Description

This 2-day PALS course is designed to teach you the lifesaving skills required to be both a team member and a team leader in either an in-hospital or out-of hospital setting.

It is suitable for all health professionals with a need for advanced skills, competence and confidence in paediatric emergency situations and who may be required to respond to a paediatric cardiovascular emergency.

Assessment
The mastery style of assessment is the form of assessment predominantly utilised during the course. Through using this style, specific targets are set and participants are required to meet these during the programme. Participants may pass each target on their first attempt, or require several efforts to reach the required standards.

Preparation
In order for participants to gain the most benefit, and to achieve the assessment standards of the course, it is essential to complete the pre-course reading and the pre-course multiple choice and ECG recognition tests are completed prior to the course. It is essential that the precourse test is completed prior to the course.

Closing date is approximately two weeks prior to course commencement date.

Please note: a minimum of 6 participants is required for the course. In the event of less than 6 participants the course may be deferred or cancelled.
